Fit

This works well for some businesses and badly for others

Saying no at the door costs us a sale and saves you a year. Here is exactly where the method earns its money and where it does not.

It works for

Directories and catalogues

The ideal shape, because the work is already half done: every entry is a thing somebody types. A hundred suppliers, or breeds, or courses, or models, is a hundred searches with a hundred answers that nobody has written. If your business is a list, this method was designed for you.

Local services with a map behind them

The same service in eighty towns is eighty different searches, and almost nobody has written the eighty pages, because doing it by hand costs more than it returns. Our shelf shows an emergency plumber in the UK sitting on 594 distinct searches worth 61,570 a month. A typical firm in that trade has four pages.

Professional services where the question is specific

Immigration, tax, family law, insurance, recruitment. People do not search for the profession, they search for their own situation, and every situation is a page. In our shelf an immigration lawyer in the UK carries 468 distinct searches. Almost all of them are somebody describing a problem.

Software sold to other businesses

Comparisons, alternatives, integrations, use cases, "for" pages by industry and role. Long lists of small specific searches by people who are already shopping, which is the most valuable kind of visitor there is.

An old domain going to waste

The most underrated of the five. A site that has existed for years, is trusted, and ranks for almost nothing is the cheapest possible start: the expensive part, the age and the trust, is already paid for. It just has no pages. This is our own situation, and it is why we recognise it.

It does not work for

A market held by household names

If the first page is three national brands and a marketplace, volume will not move it and we will not pretend otherwise. The Demand Report is where this gets caught, and when it is caught we refund it.

Businesses whose visitors already know their name

If nearly everyone who finds you searched for you by name, there is no unclaimed demand to capture. You need a different kind of help, and it is not this.

A business without a product yet

This work sends people somewhere. If there is nothing for them to arrive at, the pages become a visitor counter, and a counter is the most expensive way to feel busy.

Anyone who needs position three by November

We cannot sell that. Anyone who does is guessing with your money and will still be explaining in November. If a specific position by a specific date is the requirement, we are the wrong supplier and it is better for both of us to find that out today.

Not sure which side you are on? That is what the report at the front of the pricing is for, and it is the one product designed to be able to tell you no.

The cheapest way to find out which list you are on is to measure your own niche.
